what did the rings represent ?

why didnt holden go on the carousel with phoebe if hes worried about her falling?

Was holden in an insane asylum when he got psychoanalyzed ?

why did holden end up changing his mind on not leaving?

why didnt he let phoebe come with him when she wanted?

Holdens splendid idea!!!

Holden is trying to pretty much running away from everything and going somewhere where there isn't a lot of people and hes pretty much giving up, it looks like he cant take much more of this big city life with all the people, lets see he said lets go to a differant state, live in a cabin, and then we can start a new life. im pretty sure if she would have said yes then he would have been a very happy man, who knows maybe he would have calmed down in his mind and how he thinks. I see Holden as a guy that cant be around to many people and in a cabin out in the wilderness is a place were he needs to be.

His feelings towards religion

in these chapters you can really see Holden open up a little more, in chapter 14 he talks about how he was going to pray and then all the sudden he talks about the bible and Jesus. This is when he talked about being an atheist, he said he didn't like the bible and the people in it, this is beginning to show that Holden does like a lot of things or people. If he keeps this up hes going to be a very lonely man i tell you what. but then after all that he ends up running into a couple of nuns, haha what are the odds he goes from talking about being an atheist and then next thing you know you run into some very holy people.

But i think after the talk with the nuns really got him thinking more about it, he then went on talking about his family and how his dad use to be a catholic and then "quit".
i didnt know that you could "quit" being something like some sort of game, you can quit sports but quit being a catholic, no i would have to say its more like stop being a catholic. but thats just my honest opinion.

This fella right here....

Holden is a very unique guy, in the beginning of these chapters you can see him talking about sex and all that good stuff, he makes it sound like hes an expert about it and like he may have done stuff but i don't know i just couldn't exactly get to the bottom of it. also in the beginning of these chapters you talked about how he was horny and he ended up calling a girl, to me that sounds pretty adult, you just don't see to many 15-17 year old's just calling of a girl to have sex i cant say i have. It also looks like he has very good people skills something i don't have. he went to that club in the hotel and ended up meeting some ladies. That's just the opposite of me if i went to a place like that by myself it wouldn't turn out to good, i am a person  that doesn't want to be seen or heard and that's tough becasue i don't meet a lot of new people.

Maturity

Holden can be very mature at some times such as when he talks about getting cock tails with people, but i feel he has a lot more immaturity. such as this week we talked about when he got into that fight with Stradlater he kept on calling him a "Moron". I couldn't even see myself using that word once let a lone use it multiple times such as he did. Compared to kids i know i would see them as being more mature than him. the stuff he does is something i would have done in 7th grade, such as when Stradlater let him up if Holden would stop calling him a moron but when he did let him up Holden went right back to it. i don't know i think he has a ways to go until he grows up

Reaction

I would have to pass judgment, i haven't exactly failed all of all of my classes and got kicked out of a school. To me it looks like he doesn't engage himself into the classes. he does care about what the teachers are teaching, but also who does? all i know is that i at least try even if i may hate what we were doing. but i think i will have to read more to really get an understanding of who he is.

Is life a game?

I got the question weather life was a game or not. When I began to think about it I put together prices that would show how life could seem like a game.
Everyday we wake up in the morning, it seems as we are the prices and the world is our board. The laws that our society set can be the rules in this game, just like in a game when you break the rules you get kicked out of the game, in this case it would be jail. What we do can affect how other people end out in the game.
