Reaction
I would have to pass judgment, i haven't exactly failed all of all of my classes and got kicked out of a school. To me it looks like he doesn't engage himself into the classes. he does care about what the teachers are teaching, but also who does? all i know is that i at least try even if i may hate what we were doing. but i think i will have to read more to really get an understanding of who he is.

i agree with you kasey. i passed judgment on Holden as well because he just doesn't care what the teachers are teaching. hes not a bad person, its just he doesnt care about school. there is some deeper reason why holden doesnt care about school that we might find out later. until then, we dont know why he has given up on his education.
ReplyDeleteI think we already have been given the answer to why he doesn't try in high school. I think he doesnt really know what he wants to be, he doesnt want to strive and be phony like DB and he is saddened and angered by Allie's death.
